American Girl Four Poster Bed 
 
 
 
This bed was designed and built for an American Girl doll.
It is made from softwood and has turned legs.
It has additional mouldings to the head and footboard as well as additional mouldings to the curtain rails which can be seen in the image to the right.
The Doll measured 455 mm and the final dimensions of the bed turned out to be 593mm long x 528mm high and 319mm wide.
A very substantial bed at approximately 1/3 scale.
The finished object will have curtains, a valance and a canopy as well as matching bedding. 
 

 
 
 
 
The finished article in a red gingham bedding set as we suggested to our client, this version had the turned legs, with the caps on top of the post serving to fix the canopy in poisition.
The client prefered the legs to be unturned and did not really want the knobs on top of the canopy.
This was made with two wrap round curtains for ease of manufacture.
Our client wanted to be able to tie the curtains back to the post, we provided four curtains and some tiebacks to meet these requirements.
The finished article is pictured on the right manufactured from the clients own choice of fabrics. 
This bed on the left is now for sale
